Title: Novel Approaches to Buprenorphine Extended-Release and Methadone Initiation and Alpha-2 Agonist Withdrawal Management
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the unique pharmacology of high-potency synthetic opioids and novel non-opioid adulterants in the unregulated drug supply and their implications for initiating medications for opioid use disorder.
- Discuss the evidence base, pharmacologic rationale, clinical applications, and relative risks and benefits of novel approaches to initiate buprenorphine extended-release and methadone.
- Discuss the evidence base, pharmacologic rationale, and clinical applications of novel approaches to alpha-2 agonist withdrawal management.
