Dear Colleagues,
This month, we will bid farewell to our graduating digestive disease fellows as well as our graduating advanced endoscopy and advanced IBD fellows.
It is always bittersweet to say goodbye to our fellows, who have spent years training alongside us. No matter where their career takes them, they will always be a valued part of our Yale Digestive Diseases community. I look forward to celebrating our graduating fellows at the fellows’ presentations and graduation ceremony later this month. And, as we begin the new academic year each summer, immediately after we say goodbye to our graduating class, we welcome a new class of fellows to the section. For many of us, working with and training fellows is one of the primary reasons that we are in academic medicine—and a source of enjoyment and fulfilment in our careers.
I would also like to extend my congratulations to Lisa DeLizio, who was recently recognized by the university for her 45 years of service to the institution. Lisa’s dedication to our section is remarkable, and we are extremely fortunate to have the benefit of her exceptional skills and institutional knowledge to support us.
I hope you enjoy reading about the inspiring and collaborative work happening in clinical care, research, and education by colleagues across the section.
Sincerely,
Loren Laine, MD
