Pulido Saavedra Selected to Receive ISAM Travel Award

Alejandra Pulido Saavedra, MD, postdoctoral associate in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, has been awarded a travel grant to attend and present her research at the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) Annual Meeting in Hamburg, Germany, from May 26-28, 2025.

ISAM fosters global collaboration among addiction specialists, encouraging the exchange of diverse perspectives on addiction treatment across different cultural settings.

Pulido Saavedra works at the Clinical Neuroscience Research Unit of the Connecticut Mental Health Center. She is part of the Yale Cocaine Research Clinic, where she is mentored by Gustavo Angarita, MD, MHS, assistant professor of psychiatry.

At the conference, she will present a PET imaging study examining alterations in synaptic density in individuals with cocaine use disorder, comparing them to healthy controls. This study is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) with the Grant 1 RO1 DA052454-01A1.
