I have never been more proud of our team and collaborators in the ways in which we have stepped up and shown up for each other and our incredible school partners this new year during what for many has been a very tumultuous time. Our hearts, science, and actions continue to be with our school partners in LA who were devastated by the wildfires and are working towards rebuilding; our school partners in states near borders and in communities that have experienced threats to their students, staff, and families; our students, educators, and partners with identities that have been questioned, challenged, dismissed, invalidated, or mocked and made to be seen as less than.
Our research will continue to affirm our steadfast commitment to advancing the science of learning and social and emotional development so that each and every student, educator, family, and school community has the opportunity to access rigorous, relevant, and realistic evidence, has the opportunity to be seen in, and served by educational research evidence, and has the opportunity to access and benefit from evidence-based education science in practice and policy.
Indeed, in many ways, our work together has only just begun.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you in person this Spring!
In community,
Chris
