Elevate Policy Lab’s MOMS Partnership® Recognized as a Best Practice by AMCHP Innovation Hub

2 Minute Read

The MOMS Partnership®, developed by Elevate Policy Lab at Yale Child Study Center, has been recognized as a Best Practice by the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) Innovation Hub.

The AMCHP Innovation Hub is a national platform that highlights evidence-based and field-tested programs that are improving outcomes for children, youth, and families across the country. The “Best Practice” designation is the highest level of recognition within the Hub and is reserved for programs with strong evidence of effectiveness, successful implementation, and meaningful impact.

This recognition for MOMS Partnership reflects years of collaboration with mothers, community organizations, researchers, and policymakers to address maternal mental health in ways that are accessible, culturally responsive, and grounded in community strengths.

The MOMS Partnership was developed to support mothers experiencing stress, depression, and the everyday challenges associated with poverty and structural inequities. Combining evidence-based interventions with implementation strategies tailored by and for the local community, MOMS helps mothers build social connection, reduce symptoms of stress and depression, and access opportunities that further promote maternal mental health and economic mobility.

Today, MOMS has been implemented in numerous settings and communities across the country through partnerships with government, Federally Qualified Health Centers, public housing and homeless services, and community-based organizations. The program’s inclusion in the Innovation Hub recognizes not only the effectiveness of the model, but also the importance of investing in maternal mental health as a foundation for healthy families and thriving communities.

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the voices and experiences of mothers themselves,” said Maria Awwa, program administrator at Elevate. “MOMS has always been built with communities, not simply for communities, and we are honored to see that work recognized nationally.”
