Dr. Xiaotong Hu, an infectious disease physician from China's resource-limited regions, serves as an Attending Physician at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University. She earned her PhD in Internal Medicine from Zhejiang University, where her doctoral research pioneered China's first sequencing-based hepatitis A surveillance network across six provinces. This initiative detected a spatiotemporal outbreak and enabled rapid containment through real-time data analysis, with the system now scaled nationally by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Her future research focuses on developing methodologies for mobile population cohorts and scalable healthcare solutions in underserved areas to reduce preventable health disparities globally.
