    Biography

    Pablo studied Biology at the University Complutense de Madrid (Spain). From 2013 to 2017 he performed his PhD with Dr. Mariluz Martínez Chantar at the University of the Basque Country (Spain), studying the role of different microRNAs in one-carbon metabolism and fatty liver disease.

    From there, he moved to Yale University to do his postdoctoral training with Dr. Carlos Fernández-Hernando where he has studied tissue-specific function of miR-33 in lipid metabolism, mitochondrial function and obesity.

    Currently he has been awarded a Career Development Award from the American Heart Association, to support his transition to independency with his project that is focused on the investigation of sterols in metabolism and immune cell function in the context of obesity and fatty liver disease.
