    Biography

    Luis Suarez Rodriguez, MD, is a general surgeon with training in general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care. He earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2012, completed his general surgery residency at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus in 2017, and then pursued fellowship training in surgical critical care at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN, completed in 2019. He currently is part of the Yale School of Medicine at Bridgeport Hospital, where he serves as an assistant professor of surgery and focuses on improving surgical outcomes and advancing trauma care. Among his clinical interests are general surgery related illnesses such as hernias, gallbladder disease, appendix, soft tissue mass, bowel obstruction, urgent surgical emergencies and traumatic injuries, and his academic has focused on surgical outcomes for elderly patients and trauma patients.
