Smilow Cancer Hospital at Guilford welcomes Dr. Johanna LaSala, an experienced medical oncologist in the Connecticut community. Dr. LaSala brings extensive experience to patients and families on the Shoreline. She has been caring for patients with solid tumors with a particular focus in breast cancer, as well as hematology patients, for nearly 30 years, and most recently practiced at the Smilow Cancer Hospital location in Orange, CT.
Dr. LaSala received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship at Cornell Medical Center. Over the past 27 years she has been dedicated to clinical care, while participating in quality improvement, and supporting medical education and system development. In 2019 Dr. LaSala received the Smilow Luminary Award of Excellence.T his award recognizes staff or teams that consistently exceed performance expectations and deliver high quality cancer care for patients, families, and the health system through community service, optimization and innovative solutions, patient experience, leadership, and research initiatives. She has also been recognized as a Connecticut Magazine Top Doctor.
