Yifei Zhang, MD, is an Assistant Professor (Medical Oncology) and cares for patients with lung and gastrointestinal cancers as a member of the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Derby. Dr. Zhang received her medical degree from NYU Grossman School of Medicine and completed her fellowship training at Tufts Medical Center and a residency at Montefiore Medical Center.
During medical school and fellowship, Dr. Zhang’s research focus included AL clonal plasma cell behavior in the bone marrow microenvironment, looking at mouse models in squamous cell lung carcinoma, and barriers to inclusion in clinical trials for Hodgkin and Non- Hodgkin Lymphoma. While in medical school at NYU she was awarded a President’s Service Award, which is given to students or student organizations that have had an extraordinary and positive impact on the university community.
